Bhangra is a traditional dance which originates from the Punjab, region of India and Pakistan.

It was initially used us a celebratory folk dance wich heralded the coming of spring or vaisahki as it is known. Bhangra become popularized chiefly due to the sikh community helped to integrate. The music and dance in to the Bollywood film industry . There are many competitions among the adults and kids of the community Bhangra dances differ from region to region, but still retain their own unique identities. Music: Bhangra is a mix of a singing accompanied music and a beat of a single drum known as a dhol. The lyrics are always songs in Punjabi and usually related to social or cultural issues also, marriage and love, money or getting drunk. The instruments used are Tumbi, Agoz, Dhadd and more. Women use traditional Punjabi dress AKA a saldwarkameez, long baggy pants tight at the ankle, a long colorful shirt and chunnis, scarf. Culture Punjab is a mixture of many ethnic just like Canada. Due to the large number of people distributed throughout the world, many people are experiencing the culture and becoming influenced by it. Men are privileged in this culture, women are seen as the side wife, but this dance integrates everyone in to the community. Punjab is considered to have the best infrastructure in India, less than one-fourth of children below age of five is underweight.
