Description
The premise of the Drawings within a drawing is to refine and expand your basic design and drawing skills while broadening your understanding of various drawing mediums. Working with Scale, Proportions, Positive and Negative Space, and Balance within small compositions and arranging those small compositions within one large drawing. In your Sketch book, practice making marks by drawing a 10 square value scale in pencil 10 square value scale in micron marker. (hatching, line, stippling) Sketch out 5-10 small thumbnail drawings of your object from nature Choose your best compositions and transfer to your Final sheet of drawing paper in Pencil (lightly draw the preliminary drawing) Begin filling in the composition and outlining shapes with Micron markers.

Objective !
The focus of this drawing is to experiment with the use of both line, shape, and value relationships, while describing a single object from nature. The found object from nature will be rendered in its simplicity and form. The entire focus is on that object, the surface on which it sits, the fall of light and shadow, and its surface decoration or detail, and most importantly composition. Small object studies offer numerous possibilities for the artist. In most types of object studies you can control content, composition and lighting to a great extent, which makes it an excellent genre in which to explore personal style and technique. Please keep these ideas in mind while completing the drawing. **The final drawing will be composed of 3-5 small Compositions within the Larger frame of paper.** (4x6 inches) works best for the overall size The drawing will be composed of Various forms of Line, Shape, and Value: 1.
