Harris County Deputies Organization Endorses Barry Smitherman for Attorney General AUSTIN Today Barry Smitherman, Chairman of the Railroad Commission and conservative candidate for Attorney General, announced that the Harris County Deputies Organization has endorsed his campaign for Attorney General. "The Harris County Deputies' Organization is proud to endorse Barry Smitherman for Attorney General," said Eric Batton, Vice President HCDO. "Barry is a former Harris County assistant district attorney and a public servant with impressive leadership experience who understands the needs of law enforcement and the challenges they face.
