Daniel Pealoza (above) is part of Johns team as the technical expert and maintenance guru. He has been working in some capacity at El Refugio for 7 years. He recently attended a training in California and returned with a Puma helmet cover. It keeps us laughing! Byron Villareal (left) trains facilitators (our 18-24 year-olds who work with groups) and runs internships. He is super talented and brings a lot to the team.

It is good to be back in Calacal, Ecuador!

In some ways, our 4 months in the States was short, and in others, it was long. We thoroughly enjoyed time with family, meeting new people, seeing old friends, and sharing with people about the ministry of which we are blessed to be a part. it safely and with all of our luggage. Over the past two weeks, we have just been settling in and gearing up to resume full-time ministry. We are so excited to be back!

We certainly miss friends and family, but On January 13, we returned to Ecuador. It was a having a ministry we love and are committed to pretty good travel day, and by Gods grace, we made makes being here a lot easier. Seeing Samantha really enjoy camp denitely helps a lot too!

Prayer Requests
For John, as he officially assumes the role of Director of Ministry Programs at El Refugio. For Emily, that her pregnancy would continue to go well. For Sammie, that she would be able to make local friends. PRAISE: She has slept great since we returned to Ecuador!

Emily made Churrasco upon our arrival. YUM!

Before leaving the US, Uncle Davis took Sammie to see horses.

We enjoyed being around Lake Washington.

Sammie made Christmas cookies with Emily. She also went hunting with her daddy! And, she got to cheer on her daddy while he ran the MS Blues Half-Marathon!
