News

Religion: We read stories about forgiveness. We read the Bible story about the Golden Rule. We talked about treating others the way we want to be treated.

Reminders
*Friday is an out of uniform day. Wear red or pink. We are going to gym class. Dont forget your gym shoes! *Valentines Day is on Friday. Children may bring cards to share with their classmates. There are 17 children in our class. Please do not send treats with nuts. *Read to Succeed reading log sheets are due Wednesday, February 26.

Reading: We are working with writing contractions and compound words. We read 2 stories in our reading text. We wrote in our journals.
Math: We are using fractions , 1/3, and .We used the fractions to tell about the parts of shape and the parts of a group. We created shape creatures and completed graphs about the shapes we used to create the creatures. We solved problems about groups of ten for the 100th day math activity paper. We used the footsteps to walk around our room, walk down the hall and climb the stairs. One hundred footsteps took us many places! Science: We completed the chapter about the things found in space: the sun, planets, moon, and the stars. Social Studies: We watched a video clip about Dr. King from Discovery Education. We wrote about our dreams for the world. We used our map skills to read maps and use the compass rose.

Star of the Week


Addison is our Star of the Week. She brought photos and some special things to share with us. Addison showed us some of her birthday gifts. Her dad was our guest reader on Monday. You are a super star, Addison!
