The South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) would like to rectify the misrepresentation made by a City Press Online publication Journalist Ms. Nokuthula Manyathi on her article titled Varsity-qualified staffers drain SABC. Ms. Manyathi misrepresented the Acting Chief Operations Officer Mr. Hlaudi Motsoenengs statement.

The angle of the article is regrettable and misleading as it comes at the critical time when the organization is dealing with the Pricewater Coopers report on SABC skills audit. The Acting Chief Operations Officer vehemently denies having said that the University qualified employees drain the SABC. The Acting COO was saying that in as much as education and qualifications plays a vital role in the workplace, it is imperative to note that there are individuals who have joined the corporation years back and they have an extensive knowledge and experience in broadcasting to an extent that they train their new colleagues with qualifications.

The SABC would like this point to be clarified and the publication should retract its initial report.
