18th and 19th Amendments: effective?

Both the 18th and 19th amendments were looked at as milestones in reaching a place where both looking for ways of change. Where the term success and in the near future and greatness was to be achieved. Through eradicating the harmful effects of alcohol and creating the serene influence of the womans point of view to national policy, it was expected for the amalgamation of these two legislative acts to change American for the greater. While the opening to womens ideals being incorporated into grand choices was a positive aspect gained, prohibition as not so much. Although prohibition was intended to serve the need of many while also trying to cut down on negative aspects such as crime, it was not so successful. The idea of prohibition being a positive change went on to becoming a mob driven crisis.

Prohibition amendment, prohibiting the manufacture, sale, or transportation of intoxicating liquors, was adopted and submitted to the states by congress in December 1917. It then went into effect on January 20, 1920 after being ratified by the states in January of 1919.

19TH AMENDMENT: In America, the 1920s were definitely a period of great alteration. The right to vote was bind to success of women's groups in getting prohibition passed. The suffrage movement, another name for the 19th amendment, eventually passed though the quest of such a passage.
