Strategic policies ,plans Standard Operating Procedures

Strategic planning is defined as an orderly process by which top management determines organisational objectives ,strategies needed to reach these objectives and short range ,top level actions necessary to implement the strategy properly

Strategic plans
A sound plan should: Serve as a framework for decisions. Provide a basis for more detailed planning. Explain the business to others in order to inform, motivate & involve. Assist benchmarking & performance monitoring. Stimulate change and become building block for next plan.

Strategies - the rules and guidelines by

which the mission, objectives etc. may be achieved. The preparation of a strategic plan is a multi-step process covering vision it is a statement of what a firm can do and what it wants to be. Mission which indicates the purposes of the business

Objective refers to the results it needs/wants to achieve in the medium/long term. Values governing the operation of the business and its conduct or relationships with society strategies Goals are specific interim or ultimate time-based measurements to be achieved by implementing strategies in pursuit of the company's objectives Programs which set out the implementation plans for the key strategies

Strategic policies

It is a broad ,general guide to action which constrain or direct goal attainment .Policies do not normally dictate what action should be taken ,but they do provide the boundaries within which the objectives must be persuade. Policies serve to channel and guide the implementation of strategies.

Standard Operating Procedure


SOP is to describe the performance of a controlled process. once the manufacturing process have been completely designed ,developed and processed SOP can be finalized and approved It is nothing more than a clearly written description of how a particular task is performed

It includes: The list of materials and components required for processing A full description of reagent, components or sample preparation A list of equipment required Technical training requirement

Step by step description of process Processing control parameters Test or observation used to ensure effectiveness Process control effectiveness Data handling requirements Report and documentation requirement
