RELIGIOUS BELIEFS

Spirituality looks inward to an awareness of universal values. Spirituality is seen as universal and broadly inclusive.

Formal religion looks outward, using formal rites and scripture. Religion is viewed as intolerant and divisive.

A person can have a positive view of religion and spirituality. A person can be positive about religion but negative about spirituality. A person can have a negative view of religion, but a positive view of spirituality. A person can be negative about both religion and spirituality.

Spirituality enhances the general well-being of employees:
