Anti-government protests sweep Bahrain
Bahraini protesters have held fresh demonstrations against the ruling Al Khalifa regime in different parts of the country. Anti-regime protesters took to the streets of a central district of the capital, Manama, on Tuesday. Saudi-backed security forces attacked another protest rally in the town of Sanabis, located in the suburbs of Manama. No casualties were reported in the incident. Bahrain has been the scene of almost daily protests against the Al Khalifa regime since February 2011, when thousands of prodemocracy protesters took to the streets, calling for the royal family to leave power. EU Parliament Resolution slammed


The Council of Representatives today hit back at the resolution passed by the European Parliament on February 6, 2014 regarding the situation of human rights in Bahrain. It slammed the resolution, being a agrant interference in Bahrain's internal affairs and an attempt to defame the

"The resolution is an unacceptable interference in the Kingdom's internal affairs and an affront to Bahrain's independent judiciary", it said, dismissing the stance as contravening international covenants and norms.
