Public Input on City Manager Search Invited


Manhattan Beach, Calif. (February 11, 2104) Manhattan Beach residents and other stakeholders are invited to provide input into the City Manager search. The City Council is soliciting public comment on what traits and characteristics are desired in the next City Manager and the first opportunity to do so will be as part of the regular City Council meeting on Tuesday, February 18th at 6:00 PM or shortly thereafter. The City Council has retained Teri Black & Company to undertake the executive search process for the City Manager position. The goal of the recruitment and selection process is to identify the best available candidates and to ensure that the candidates are a good fit for the community. The first part of this process is develop a candidate profile with community participation in this element taking the form of the opportunity to share their comments with the City Council on February 18th and an on-line survey to be made available later in February. The City Council wants to engage the public in attracting the best and the brightest to Manhattan Beach through a process which is tailored to and recognizes the unique attributes of Manhattan Beach, commented Mayor Amy Howorth. I encourage the community to participate and share their insights with us by whichever means they are most comfortable. Comments received by the City Council on Tuesday, February 18th, will be shared with the search firm will be utilized by the recruiter and City Council throughout the process.
