How does your media product represent particular social groups?

In my opening sequence, the main character is a teenager. During the opening sequence, he represents teenagers in different ways.

Negative:
The opening sequence presents teenagers as quite violent and aggressive. This gives them a negative representation, as my character is using a weapon and intends to kill somebody. Although it makes teenagers seem violent and ruthless, I aimed to represent teenagers in both a negative and a positive way.

Positive:
Although my opening sequence may represent teenagers in a violent way, they are also represented positively. My main character is determined to complete his task, and this presents teenagers in a positive way because it shows the audience that they dont always back down when there is a problem or danger. My main character is also represented as courageous, as he shows no fear of what may happen to him when he embarks on completing his task. These characteristics represent teenagers in a positive way in terms of their personality.

My opening sequence represents teenagers in a positive and negative way, showing that nobody is perfect in every way, and that everyone has positive and negative characteristics. It breaks the stereotype of teenagers being seen negatively as reckless by having a positive underline in my opening sequence.
