Introduction

Ancillary hydraulic devices

An important components that do not fall under the major categories of pumps, valve, actuators, conductors, & fittings. This chapter deals with devices such as, reservoirs, accumulators, pressure intensifiers, sealing devices, heat exchangers, pressure gages, & flow meters.

Accumulators

Defined as,
A device that stores potential energy by means of either gravity, mechanical springs, or compressed gases. The stored potential energy is a quick secondary source of fluid power capable of doing useful work. There are three(3) basic types of accumulators used in hydraulic system.
