    2014-2015 JOINT LEGISLATIVE BUDGET HEARING Taxes

    Monday, February 10 - 9:30 A.M. HEARING ROOM B, LEGISLATIVE OFFICE BUILDING, ALBANY
    Senate Finance Committee Chair John A. DeFrancisco and Assembly Ways and Means Committee Chair Herman D. Farrell, Jr. today announced that the 10th Joint Legislative Hearing in a series of 13 hearings will be held on Monday, February 10. During the Hearing on Taxes, which is part of the legislative process to review the 2014-2015 Executive Budget, New York State Taxation and Finance Commissioner Thomas H. Mattox, labor officials, representatives of business advocacy organizations and tax fairness groups will have an opportunity to address the Senate and Assembly fiscal committees. These joint legislative hearings will continue through Tuesday, February 11 and are available for live viewing on the Senate and Assembly websites and the Legislative Channel (available on cable systems throughout the state), but will be preempted when the houses are in session. At the conclusion of the legislative deliberations, live televised coverage of the hearings will resume. In addition to Taxation and Finance Commissioner Mattox, testimony is also scheduled from; Heather Briccetti, president and CEO and Kenneth Pokalsky, vice president, Government Affairs, The Business Council; Mike Durant, director, New York State, National Federation of Independent Businesses; Randy Wolken, president, Manufacturers Association of Central New York; and E.J. McMahon, president, Empire Center for Public Policy. Testimony also will be provided by Brian Sampson, executive director, Unshackle Upstate; Frederick Floss, executive director, Fiscal Policy Institute; Ron Deutsch, executive director, New Yorkers for Fiscal Fairness; and John Whitely, legislative affairs officer, NYS Property Tax Reform Coalition.
