India is one of the most religiously diverse nations in the world, with some of the most deeply religious societies and cultures.

Birth place of Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism & Sikhism. The major religions of India are Hinduism (majority religion), Islam (largest minority religion), Sikhism, Christianity, Buddhism, Jainism, Zoroastrianism, Judaism and the Bah' Faith..

Culture Varies With States


Comprising twenty-eight states and seven union territories. India's schools teach 58 different languages. The nation has newspapers in 87 languages, radio programmes in 71, and films in 15.

National Symbols
The national flag of India is tricolor. Tiger (Panthera Tigris, Linnaeus) is the national animal of India. Tiger symbolizes India's wildlife wealth.

Peacock (Pavo cristatus), which is a symbol of grace, joy, beauty and love is the national bird of India.
The National Emblem of India has been taken from the Sarnath Lion capital erected by Ashoka. Lotus is the National flower of India. The Lotus symbolizes spirituality, fruitfulness, wealth, knowledge and illumination.

Indian Dance Forms


India has thousands of year old tradition of fine arts and classical and folk music and dances. Some of the world-famous dance forms that originated and evolved in India are Bharatnatyam, Kathak, Kathakali, Kuchipudi, Manipuri, Mohiniattam and Odissi. All these dance forms were originally performed in the temples to entertain various Gods and Goddesses. .

Indian Food
The cooking style varies from region to region. India is quite famous for its diverse multi cuisine. Major Indian food include South Indian, Punjabi, Mughali, Bengali, Kashmiri, Rajasthani and Gujarati. The staple food in India includes wheat, rice and pulses with chana (Bengal Gram) being the most important one.
