Abstract

Electric Lightning
Our goal is to make a product using an efficient form of energy that doesnt harm the environment. We chose to use piezoelectricity. When pressure is applied to piezoelectric material it generates electricity. Our product will use human movement to put pressure on piezoelectric materials. This will be an alternate source of energy to replace fossil fuels. It is very important that we find alternate sources of energy; if we dont find them soon, we could potentially run out of current energy sources. Also, it is an efficient way of making energy that could help make the problem of obesity be less serious. The energy will be stored in a capacitor so that it can be used later. With this energy we could power anything from an LED light to buildings. The energy production depends on the size of the capacitor and the energy produced. In conclusion, piezoelectricity is an interesting topic and something scientists should look into more.
