1. How did Ms. Miller plan her classroom management?


Giving students projects to work on individually, in pairs and in groups. Encourage students to gather sitting on a carpet instead of in traditional rows of desks when they meet as a whole class. Provides students a sense of order and purpose to the to the tasks in which the students are engaged. Prepares students to work independently and collaboratively.

2. What are the rules and procedures that have been made by her?
Taught students cues for when to gather on the rug and when to return to seats. During rug time students were to raise their hands so that only one person would be speaking at once. Every list of procedures ends with instructions for clean-up.

3. What did she do to make sure that her students understand and follow the rules and procedures?
Poster with the days schedule and center time clearly marked is prepared. Went it over it with the students before posting it on a highly visible bulletin board. Centers were introduced one at a time, over a period of several weeks. Careful to balance the available centers have more familiar activities available, on which students can work independently.

4. What did she do in order to make sure that her students obey and follow the rules and procedures?

Made a habit of referring to the poster during the first weeks of school. Asked students to tell her when certain activities were to start or stop. When each new center become available, the teacher presented it to the whole class, demonstrating the material found there and pointing out two signs in each center. She also pointed two signs in each center.
