RESPIRATORY SYSTEM

PULMONOLOGISTS:
DR.CARLOS
DR.GUILLERMO
HOW THE SYSTEM FUNCTIONS
 A respiratory system's function is to
allow gas exchanges to all parts of the
body. the space between the alveolis
and the capillaries, the anatomy or
structure of the exch and the precise
physiological uses of the exchanged
gases vary on the organism.

FLOW CHART
ALVEOLIS
Alveoli are small air sacs in the lungs, as
small as a grain of sand. There are
billions of these in the lungs, and the
purpose of these alveoli are to supply
de-oxygenated blood with a supply of
oxygen through gas exchange.

BRONCHIOLE
 he bronchioles or bronchioli are the first
airway branches that no longer contain
cartilage. they are branches of the
bronchi, and are smaller than one
millimiter in diameter.

CAPILLARY
 These small vessels are called capillaries.
The walls are only one cell thick and
some capillaries are so narrow that red
blood cells have to fold up to pass
through them. Capillaries form networks
in tissues called capillary beds.

LUNGS
Your heart sits in between the two
lungs. The right lung is the larger
lung and it has three distinct parts
called lobes.
