February 20, 2014 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Thursday, February 20, 2014, approximately 11:20 am, Ridgeland Police Department responded to 610 South Wheatley Street in referenced to a deceased subject at this residence. Upon the arrival of patrol officers, a victim identified as 91 year of age Sue Richardson was located inside the residence deceased. Richardson had sustained injuries to the head area consistent with blunt force trauma and was located in the kitchen/dining area of the residence. Richardson lived alone although a grandson would frequent the residence. Initial stages of the investigation have led to a person of interest being sought in this case. Witnesses place the grandson at the scene during the time frame of the crime. Ridgeland Police Department is in the process of securing an arrest warrant on the grandson who is identified below.
