What is freedom ?
When I talk about the freedom I mention the freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and freedom of the press. I think freedom is when everyone can be free to live without the influence of anyone, and freedom should look like when everyone can enjoy and express his opinion freely. Firstly, me, as a person who suffered for freedom of speech during the Serbian regime in my country, I understand best the importance of freedom of speech. That time I couldnt speak freely and couldnt express my opinion on freedom and the right of my people. I didnt dare to talk about the freedom and the right of my people because immediately the Serbian state security imprisoned and tortured every person who thought differently of regime at that time. So, the freedom of speech was sacred for me that time but now, I am free and happy in my life after many rough years that I never forget. Freedom of speech can never stop by the violence. Secondly, regarding to the freedom of the press, I can say that I have some experiences about the freedom of the press. During the years of Serbian occupation there wasnt free press in my country because newspapers in Albanian language were censored by the state, so every newspaper was controlled by the state. Except newspapers and electronic media were censored. However, Albanian people although persecuted never stopped writing for their rights. Nowdays in my country there are many newspapers that reflect reality without censorship by state as before. Thirdly, when I talk about the freedom of religion I remember that time when In was young. During that time when I was in the primary school and as a muslim religious, I couldnt fast the month of Ramadan. The state didnt allow me to fast and forced me to drink water in order to stop the progress of my religion. Despite this, the state never could stop my religion, so I just became stronger in my religious belief. I think everyone must respect the other religion. In my country the religion is free and people can choose freely which religion belong. In my opinion, everyone regardless race and religion should enjoy the right of freedom of the speech, freedom of the press and freedom of religion. Every country must respect the freedom of everyone in the society.
