ABSTRACT

Plastic garbage is a the main issues many ve been talking about by many persons, as we know the number of plastic trash in indonesia every year has increased. But plastic garbage can be used as fuel a substitute for solar by means of recycling through pirolisis process to be fuel plastic. In testing the performances of a diesel engine using fuel plastic this, used diesel engines dong feng R175A which is connected with gear pump round a 1000, with a variable 1500 and 2000 rpm. Fuel used in assaying is comparison diesel fuel and fuel plastic. Test results showed a performance using fuel plastic still lower than diesel fuel, diesel fuel it can be seen from differences torque machine which reached 5,79 % and its engine power reach 6,92 % in 2000 rpm round. Fuel consumption using fuel more wasteful than plastic fuel solar on each round a hike, in the 2000 rpm fuel consumption difference reaches 30,27 %. Efficiency thermal fuel plastic lower than with diesel fuel is round at 2000 rpm reached 27,19 %. Fuel plastic at the low 1000 rpm produce the performances of machine close to diesel fuel. It can be seen from the value of the torque, power and thermal efficiency.
