Rules
A total of 110 people are in the Olympics. 38 men, 28 women, and 18 doubles will qualify. There are three different luge events. Men and women each compete in separate singles competitions. The women's track is always shorter than the men's, usually by roughly 15 percent. Olympic luge is unique in that the singles event is decided over the course of four runs taking place across two days.
Rules
All four runs are counted with the times added up and first place going to the fastest overall time. Other luge events like the World Championships only involve two runs per competitor.
