he reconstruction and widening of Interstate 95 in 2014 will take place on the interstate and on surface streets along a corridor that stretches from Frankford Avenue to Ann Street.
All work will be done within PennDOT's right-of-way. Construction will take place simultaneously on I-95 and at street level. Highway work will involve heavy equipment. Construction will mostly take place during normal, weekday working hours, though some tasks may require nighttime or weekend operations. Pedestrian access will be maintained through work areas wherever safely possible.
Street closures will occur during some stages of construction. Parking restrictions may be in place on streets within the work area. Richmond Street will be closed between Lehigh Ave. and Cambria St. for two years beginning in early 2014 for construction of new Conrail bridges. Salmon Street Residents: SEPTA will use the space under I-95 between Somerset and Cambria streets as a layover and turn-around area for the Route 54 bus for approximately six months beginning in early 2014.
