I am one of 10.5 teachers in DMPS piloting the New Teacher Mentor Program, working with new teachers to the profession who teach k-12, including SPED students. Our training and guidelines follow the new teacher center program. Work with math and literacy leaders at the elementary to establish the best ways to support a new teacher interventionist Attended parent meeting about general school happenings and assisted with Ankeny High School students job shadowing for the day. Chaired book fair. Arranged books according to topics and reading levels based on Scholastic organization. Allow small children to pre-selected and record books they want their parents to purchase. Spoke with parents and teachers about a student in need to more extensive services.

We started the day talking with a students and SRO about a missing phone, Spoke with the Superintendent about NTC, artwork for the new building, Traveled to Madrid to meet with the Madrid, WoodwardGranger and North Polk CTE funds consortium, sat in on teacher IPDI plans I attend a homeless camp clean up organized by the JOPPA foundation.
