WIND LOAD DESIGN CALCULATION FOR ALUMINUM LOUVRE INTRODUCTION: Structural aluminum like steel, behave elastically over

large range of stress. The offset of plasticity is roughly defined by 0.2 percent of proof stress, corresponding to a permanent strain of 0.002 this stress is analogous to line yield & structural steel (is 8147:1976) The aluminum Louvre blade used for the purpose is of aluminum grade 6063-T6, fixed in the window which is located at a height of approximately 15m above ground level. The louvers are subjected to a wind of speeds up to 44 m/s. Necessary wind loading, topography and height factors are considered as per IS 875. The design is carried as per IS 8147 -1976, code of practice for use of aluminum alloys in structures.
