MUSPRA 225 PODCAST PRODUCTION 2 8 Assessment Criteria The learner can: 1.1 Produce a rationale for a podcast of around 10-15 minutes to include: a. subject/topic; b. use and style of music; c. target audience; d. content (e.g. reviews, life style issues etc.). and create a timeline for it. Produce a podcast of around 10-15 minutes based on the timeline produced in 1.1, meeting the following requirements: a. use of recorded speech; b. use of at least one jingle/stinger and one radio/audio sound/effect; c. use of relevant music where appropriate; d. use of ducking to alter the relative volume of tracks if applicable; e. use of a recorded interview; f. use of markers; g. use of accompanying art and weblinks where appropriate h. export the podcast episode as an m4a file Identify 3 different methods for hosting your podcast online, assessing the positives and negatives of each. Consider the success of the podcast created in 1.2 in relation to the specified criteria highlighting strengths and areas for development.

Additional Information on this Unit Unit purpose and aim(s) The purpose of this unit is to introduce the concept of podcasting production, research hosting techniques and develop skills in content and themes. The aim of the unit is to produce a podcast with music software and assess the success of the production.
