This poem describes a person waiting alone in darkness and silence for a small sign of light or hope to relieve their torment. Though reaching through the darkness and pain for this "speck of light", it never comes, as they remain in a state of stillness, paranoia and hallucination while patiently waiting for a sign that their faith is still there.
