ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The home owner woke up to an alarming smoke alarm and upon investigation he discovered heavy smoke coming from the kitchen area. The family (including 3 children) were able to evacuate the house and contacted 911. An investigation revealed the fire was the result of a problem with the washing machine, which was located near the kitchen area.
