Teaching Philosophy Majd Alomar My teaching philosophy has three components: creating a progressive learning environment, being a positive

example to my students, providing students with quality, constructive feedback, and continually reflecting on and refining my teaching methods. Every student is a unique individual and has his or her own strengths and weaknesses as a learner. My goal as an educator is to provide a caring, supportive and engaging teaching environment that builds students confidence and encourages them to understand their inner strengths and weaknesses as they become more involved in their own learning!"" I believe classes must be applicable not only to their field of study but also to their real life experiences. Accordingly, I aspire to create environments wherein students love learning and are always committed to their own learning. Additionally, I endeavor to help them understand that their contribution is what the world needs and what I need. To achieve these goals, I aim to utilize collaborative learning approaches such as Project Based Learning as well as a variety of assessment methods, including group quizzes and group projects. Such instruction methods help stimulate students intellectual abilities and encourage them to learn and work together. Pop quizzes as well as other assessments methods to track students' progress will enable me to assess my teaching effectiveness. Setting a positive example to my students is also important to me. I will show commitment and perseverance by working to improve the quality of teaching and learning in Saudi Arabia. My philosophy includes treating my students and colleagues the way I would like to be treated. I strive to be reliable and always available to my students. I will treat others with kindness, mercy and respect. As a teacher, I will acknowledge every one of my students as an individual and treat my students equitably. In grading assignments, I will be fair and will set a clear grading scheme for all of my assessments. One of the most important and constructive methods of teaching that I have personally gained from is written feedback. Therefore, I would like to apply this in my teaching. Not only will I give my students constructive feedback; I will explain to them the importance of it and how to use it to enhance their learning. Over time my teaching style will change. In order to make sure that it changes for the better, I will adopt research-based teaching methods to ensure that I am always improving my quality of teaching. There is so much to learn from my students and I will never stop learning from them. Effective communication with my students will allow me to adjust my syllabus according to their needs.
