Highlights
March ushers in more winter weather! Hopefully it will leave with calm, warmer weather. The students identified different kinds of weather like sunny, windy, snowy, rainy, and cloudy. They placed pictures of various kinds of weather under the correct category. In reading Ozzie Octopus was introduced. Naming words, rhyming words, and words that start with O or have o in the middle were topics covered. The students have new sight words for the month of March. Making a Pet Graph, playing an Attribute Spinner Game, examining the Number Grid, and playing the Number Grid Search Game were activities explored in Everyday Math. The students also learned about leprechauns and made one for the classroom bulletin board. Now they are playing tricks on each other.

March 27 Spirit Day

March 28 Grandparents/Special Guest Day; 9:00 AM Mass Parents are welcome to join us for our kindergarten Mass next Friday, March 14th at 8:35. The students will be sitting in the choir and one of the pews on the east side of the church. Parents can sit in the front pews on the east side. There will be a short reception in the church hall after Mass.

Faith Formation
The students are gaining a better understanding of the season of Lent. They are learning that it is a time of change, a time of looking at ourselves, our words and actions. How can we become better people? When we received ashes on our foreheads at Ash Wednesday Mass, Fr. Mark told us we need to pray, do almsgiving, and fast. The children wrote promises of something they will do during Lent.
