Write down a four digit number Write down the first digit Write down the first two digits Write down the first three digits Now add these three numbers Multiply this by 9:

example:-

1234 1 12 123

(1 + 12 + 123) (9 x 136)

= = = =

136 1124 10 1234

Add together the original four digits ( 1 + 2 + 3 + 4) Add the last two results together ( 1124 + 10)

The original number always comes out at the end!!
