McKinley South End Academy Newsletter
March 2014

Dear TM3 Families,

Spring is in the air! Hopefully winter is on the way out
and we will be getting warmer weather soon.

Our focus for March will be preparing our students for
MCAS and MCAS alternative assessments exams.

McKinkey SEA will be having an Open House on
Tuesday March 11th from 4-6pm. This is a great

opportunity for you to come and meet the teachers and

staff. You are all encouraged to attend. Please be
reminded that Monday March 17th is Evacuation Day
and there will be no school.

In ELA we have begun working on recognizing and
identifying adjectives. We are still working on
differentiating between action and being verbs. We
will be starting a new novel study called The Gift-Giver.

In Math we are continuing our work on decimals and
fractions. The students have started learning how to
add and subtract fractions.

Please continue to encourage your child to do their

homework regularly and read for 10 min everyday.
