By the end of the lesson, students should be able to:

(P) Demonstrate correct rotations of the server with 90% accuracy during the entire lesson (NASPE #1; MA CF # 2.17; Task/Activity # 1-3) (C) Explain both how to rotate the server and how to keep score with 100% accuracy when asked to by the teacher (NASPE # 2; MA CF #2.17; Task/Activity Closure) (A) Respect each of their classmates and work well with their partner for the entire lesson(NASPE # 5; MA CF #2.26 ; Task/Activity #1-3) Check each objective is it specific? Focus of the lesson: scoring the game and the proper rotation of the server. 5. Questions: How does the server rotate during the match? after 5 serves the serve then comes from the opposite team. 6. how to keep score and how to switch the server. While playing doubles, the server will serve two serves in a row. After five serves, the person who finished their serve and their partner switch sides. Thus, it is the new returnees who rotate, while the new service team remains in place.

On the serve, the ball must land diagonally into your opponent's box. If the ball hits the net on the serve and goes over it is called a let. You may reserve the ball. You are allowed unlimited lets in a row. Transition: Students will pick a partner that they work well with and stand across from them on the table. (4 per table) Students and their partner will match up with another set of two that they work well with. They will have

15 seconds to complete this. Once they have a group of four I will tell each table to get their paddles and a ping pong ball. Activity #1: T will demonstrate the with three other students how to rotate the server. Students will work in a group of four, working on switching the server. Students will practice this with their table. One student will serve the ball over the net. The other team will return the ball using the correct order. ( player 1 hits to player 3 and player 2 hits to player 4) The students will complete as many rotations of the service as they can in the time given. Transition: Students will gather around the middle table for a demonstration then return to their table for Activity #2 Activity #2: Students will now include scoring in to their game. Each Game will be played to 21. you must win by 2. A point is scored after each ball is put into play. If you cannot

return the ball to the other side of the table the opposite team receives a point. If you hit the ball out of order the other team receives a point. Students will return to their table and practice both keeping scoring and switching the service. One student will serve the ball over the net the other team will return it. Once the ball is not returned a point will be rewarded. Once the server serves twice the other team will get to serve two points. The students will play until I say that time is up. When I say freeze the students on the far side of the gym will shift one table to the right and the last table will go to the first table.The students will now start a new game with the new TSSSS opponents at their SS SS table. S S S S Ss will continue to work on switching the server and keeping score.

Transition: students will collect the paddles and all of the table tennis balls and return them to the bag, and then gather around the teacher. They have 30 seconds to do so. Closure: Students will be asked who gets the serve after one server has finished serving two points? Students will be asked is a point scored on every play? yes -Students will Return to locker room to change.
