Android Gynecoid Platypelloid Anthropoid

Android
This is used to describe a female pelvis with characteristics usually found in men. It has a heart shaped brim and is quite narrow in the front. It has a heart or wedge shape inlet caused by prominent sacrum and a triangular anterior segment. The side walls converge making it funnel shaped with a deep cavity and a straight sacrum. The pelvic cavity and outlet is often narrow, straight and long

Anthropoid
A female pelvis with an oval shape and in which the anteroposterior diameter of the inlet equals or exceeds the transverse diameter. It has an oval brim and a slightly narrow pelvic cavity. The outlet is large ,although some of the other diameters may be reduced. IT has straight walls, a small subpubic arch, and large sacrosciatic notches

Gynecoid
The normal female pelvis , its a rounded oval pelvis with a well rounded anterior and posterior segments. it has a rounded brim and its inlet is slightly oval with a greater transverse diameter or round. Has a shallow cavity with a broad, well curved sacrum, blunt Ischia spines, a wide sciatic arch and a pubic arch of 90 degrees

Platypelloid
A rare type of pelvis in which the inlet is round like the gynecoid type in the anterior section, but the posterior section is foreshortened by its flat and heavy border. It has a kidney shaped brim and the pelvic cavity is usually shallow and may narrow in the anteroposterior diameter. The outlet is usually roomy.
