Learning to Read
Challenges for Children with Down Syndrome A Panel Discussion with Reading Specialists
Join local family members, friends, educators and therapists of children with Down syndrome
Learning to Read is critical for academic success and independence in life. However, acquiring this skill can be challenging for many children with Down syndrome and the parents and educators tasked with teaching them. Our panel of reading specialists will share their experience challenges and successes and discuss the methods and programs theyve worked with. The meeting will close with a Q & A to give attendees an opportunity to address the issues they face in teaching children with Down syndrome how to become proficient readers.
