Guidelines for Oprah Show with your Choice Book

Directions:

 Break up into groups by choice book read

 Brainstorm Oprah’s format for shows, particularly focusing on the character

traits of interviewed people and the types of questions she would ask.

 Decide who will play Oprah and which character(s) should be interviewed
from your book

 Create at least 10 questions that should be answered by the chosen

character(s)

 Specific detail should be part of every answer. At least half the questions
should be answered with direct quotes from the story.

 Your interview should be between five (5) and seven (7) minutes long.

 You will be assigned a grade based on the following criteria:

 Complexity of questions

 Specificity of response

 Thorough overview of character and related plot and themes

 Adherence to the Oprah format

Feel free to bring in costumes, music, props, etc. to give your

presentation a more authentic flavor. In other words, this assignment
should be fun!!!
