What is a Ctenophora?
Marine invertebrates constituting the phylum

Ctenophora usually found in marine habitats from near the surface to the very deep ocean. They use Cilia for swimming. (Cilia is a hair like structure) Have many similarities with a Jellyfish Also known as Comb Jellies

Ctenophores is also a Bioluminescent organism

How do a Ctenophora reproduce?

Most of Ctenophora are hermaphroditic, which means

that a single ctenophore carries both male and female reproductive gland.
Ctenophora spawn eggs and sperm freely into the sea,

where the sperm must first find the eggs, and the eggs are then fertilized. Fertilized eggs develop through a larval stage that hatches out of the free-floating fertilized egg and gradually grows into an adult ctenophore

What do Ctenophores eat?

Ctenophores are carnivores

Ctenophores eats plankton, other ctenophores and

other Cnidarian Jellies.


Ctenophores always eats planktons and carry out their

entire life cycle in the plankton, so they are considered to be "holoplanktonic


Ctenophores can eat ten times their own weight in a

day
