If you want to remember me, ORGANIZE! Cesar Chavez Cesar Chavez was an American union leader, born on March 31, 1927 near Yuma (Arizona) and died on April 23, 1993 in St. Louis (Arizona). Cesar Chavez was a cofounder of the National Farm Workers Association (Later the United Farm Workers union, UFW), which, since 1964, brought together migrant workers, mostly Hispanic, to fight for improved working conditions.
