ICT joint statement

Integration project
The ICT integration project allows Notre Dame Students to become familiar with different forms of ICT and learn techniques of how and when we can use them in a classroom. Integration is the key to delivering quality, well-rounded education and technology is a big part of the growing need in education. ICT can enhance lessons and allows students to take responsibility for their own learning and encourages safe internet behaviour. The project will focus on four lesson plans, using a minimum of three ICT student focused activities. A focus on small groups or pairs will allow students to actively participate in activities and allow maximum learning to occur. The Webquest inquiry approach has proven to be a successful model for teachers and students as it is accessible anywhere and students can work at their own pace. Web based activities tend to be more open and focus on inquiry, problem solving and encourage creativity. The ICT integration project is broken into three stages these include; planning, prototyping and publishing. Planning- the planning part of the project is vital in assuring that the content being delivered to the students is relevant and adheres to the Australian curriculum. This also ensures the ICT used within the lessons enhances the content and is relevant to the topic. Our planning process has included: Mind map- exploring ideas of ICT and integration with learning area (science) ie how does it fit within the curriculum and what are possible lesson ideas. Project plan- keeping to a timeframe to ensure project completion. Also highlights responsibilities of individual members. FPD- useful in linking ideas and ensuring a smooth delivery. Use of ICT- what are we using and why. How does it value add to our lessons? Learning theory- the theory of constructivism. How we use our lesson plans to encourage students to take control of their own learning and create content.

Prototyping- is essential in testing the viability of a lesson. We are required to : Brainstorm activity- 30mins Create a lesson plan

Self-assess Design a way to collect constructive feedback Test the ICT activity Check compliancy and literacy standard Confidently deliver lesson

Publishing page checklist includes Introduction Task page Process pages- break down into smaller parts Resources pages Evaluation Conclusion and reflection
