The Need for a Standardized Speaking Test

The oral proficiency tests used in ELC can be improved if the following obstacles are addressed: In a short interview, it is difficult to elicit rateable speech samples that allow a global assessment of interviewees' speaking proficiency. The assessment criteria are not clear. Students are barely informed of the test format and its content. The assessment scale of speaking proficiency has not been standardized. There is a lack of well-trained testers. To address the issues above, I have come up with the following test by using some online resources. The rubric will be provided if the sample test is approved.
