In this time of increasing evidence of climate change, a comprehensive effort to reinvest in our water resources and protect the Delta ecosystem is needed now more than ever, However, any water proposal that does not contain substantial funding for statewide conservation efforts and financing for projects that enhance local water supplies is unacceptable. We cannot afford to be complacent and continue our wasteful practices with this vital resource. We must approach this issue with the understanding that we will be living in drought conditions from now on. | support adopting strong statewide water conservation goals for both urban and agricultural interests. Promoting the use of proven applications such as drip irrigation, water metering, and other smart irrigation technologies across the state is our most cost-effective way to balance our Water budget. If we don't, Californians will continue to feel the affects of water restrictions, even though we have the power and insight to change our behavior.
