Front covers Analysis

The colours all of the magazines here are simple they only have two or three colours that they have used this allows the image to standout over the text, the image being the main feature that they wish the audience to be drawn too. Especially in on the magazine Clash the text is simply consistently white and bold which allows it to stand out but also not mask the image. The text and layout of the six magazines has a fairly loose structure to it, which seems to me to break the conventions of a normal magazine, which is what makes these magazines indie and not mainstream. On the Clash magazines there is some structure to the text which seems not however to be coherent throughout the issues as the structure seems to change. Throughout the magazines the font is bold and stands out which is key within a magazine. The images all have a stylistic filter to them making them seem very raw and real like the Indie magazine image or the Clash top left image. However The Fly and Clash (middle) both have a filter that makes them seem not real and interesting. When I come to create my magazine I want to use a filter similar to these that give my image a disposable camera effect to it.
