Industrial Engineer

I have chosen a career path to be an industrial engineer. Industrial engineers use science, mathematics, and engineering to make systems and operations simpler. They manage and design buildings, rooms, systems and equipment to make things easier. The yearly pay for an industrial engineer is about !","#$. This occupation allo%s you to %ork in both an office or on site at a factory. Industrial engineers can %ork on many things such as %orking at a hospital or making roller coasters safer and more efficient. &o overall I believe that I %ould en'oy this 'ob. I intervie%ed an industrial engineer that %orked at (eneral Electric. )e told me that his position as an Industrial Engineer at (eneral Electric is to provide a link bet%een the mechanical design engineer and the manufacturing team. *lso he said that he %orks %ith a team of Industrial + Mechanical Engineers. ,hich I thought %as interesting since you get to combine t%o different types of engineers to solve a problem. They ensure that manufacturing receives all of the technical data that is required to build and assemble fuel bundles, %hich are used to generate electricity in Boiling ,ater -uclear .eactors. In addition, his 'ob is to assure that the proper documentation of all technical data, %hich is generated for the assigned pro'ects, is consistent %ith all of (eneral Electric/s current engineering policies and procedures. )e %ill send the type and ho% many of something that is needed for building a product. This is very essential to the e0ecution of the product, because %ithout it you %ouldn/t kno% all the details and specifications for %hat you are producing at that time. I think that I %ill try to get into -orth 1arolina &tate 2niversity and apply for a 'ob as an industrial engineer at (eneral Electric. Talking to an actual engineer really helped me understand the 'ob. It sho%ed me %hat a real industrial engineer does and %hat his day is like. I believe that being an industrial engineer does not limit you to a certain problem. 3ou can research %hat you like to do. Then see %hat improvements and modifications can be used to make it better. This pro'ect has really opened my eyes on ho% many 'obs are available. Before researching I had never even heard of an industrial engineer. 4inding out that someone I kne% had
