Important Design Factors: Fixed Bed Adsorption
Important Design Factors: Fixed Bed Adsorption
INTRODUCTION
Removal of compound from effluents in large quantities can be done by adsorption in Circulating Fluidized bed adsorber.
Particle diameter Column diameter Flow rate Height of adsorption column Pressure drop Time of exhaustion
Recirculation of both adsorbent and adsorbate. The adsorber consists of riser, separator and settler.
BOHART-ADAM MODEL
kAB is the kinetic constant (l/mg min), F is the linear flow rate (ml/min), Z is the bed depth of column (cm), N0 is the saturation concentration (mg/l) and t is time (min). From a linear plot of ln (Ct/Co) against time (t), values of KAB and N0 were determined from the intercept and slope of the plot
THOMAS MODEL
qo - the equilibrium Cu (II) uptake per g of the RHAC adsorbent (mg/g). The values of KTH and qo were determined from a plot of Ct/Co against t using linear regression analysis
