1. Come up with a set of classroom rules as a group. 2. Encourage students rather than punish them.
- Encouragement is a acknowledgement of an effort. - Praise stimulates competition and selfishness.
3. Provide students with logical consequences to mistaken goals to support responsibilities and avoid punishment.
- eg: A student is late for the class. Punishment: Teacher may keep the student after school. Logical Consequences: Teacher may ask the student to wait at the door until she receives a signal that her late arrival will no longer disturb the class.
