Cinnamon banana wraps
I was craving for something buttery and sweet today and I finally came up with these banana wraps. At first I was thinking of calling them "banana puff", but I decided to go with "wraps". hey are very !uick and easy to make, especially if you use store"bought or pre"made puff pastry. Honestly, I can#t see myself making my own pastry sheet. $ot in a ga%illion year. &h I really should finish this post !uickly because I need to meditate before 'onday comes. And by meditate, I mean not doing anything. I believe that#s what Sunday night is for. So here#s how to make the wraps(

)ut pre"made puff pastry into * triangles. I should feel embarrassed showing you my cutting ability, but this reminds me of how I should get a ruler for my kitchen.

+rush the pastry with olive oil.

Sprinkle over brown sugar and cinnamon. If you want, you can do the cutting after this stage. About the amount of the sugar, I wanted the wraps to be ,ust slightly sweet, so I only used like - tbs of it. If you#re a sweet tooth person, you might want to add more sugar. $ow, I don#t have the picture here, but you need to slice a banana into appro.imately /"cm thick coins. 0rapping time.

ake one pastry triangle, place a banana slice at the center, and fold in one pointy edge like in the picture.

&r done"ish, because there is an optional step where you seal the wraps with egg wash 3which I didn#t4 and brush the surface too 3which I did4. &ne thing I learned from here is not to overdo the brushing because the egg will drip to the bottom of the pastry and get burned during the baking.

I totally recommend you to have this with a cup of hot chai because it#ll make everything perfecter. As I didn#t seal the wraps, they all puffed open and I can#t find proper words to describe their shapes, e.cept "unknown random puffs". 8ood thing that I have the pictures, so you can define it your self.

)onfessions( I don#t speak 9rench. And I# ve never been to 9rench restaurants. And it#s one of my biggest dreams to visit 9rance someday2 )learly, this is the fanciest name ever I used in this blog, thanks to 7ulia )hild#s cookbook. And since I don#t know how to pronounce those words, let me ,ust refer this appeti%er as )heese puffs as how she translated it. If you are a fan of cream puffs, eclairs, and even gnocchi, then you need to know how easy it is to make the chou. or puff shells. I used 7ulia#s recipe and I think it#s !uite a foolproof one since the result is pretty satisfying despite my first time making it. So let#s start with the chou. paste. @lace butter, salt, pepper, and nutmeg in water and slowly bring to boil on low heat. his paste will be used for making cheese puffs, so the paste needs to taste a bit salty. $ote( If you#re making dessert puffs, reduce the salt to a pinch and add a tsp of sugar.

0hen butter has melted and boiled, remove from heat, immediately pour in flour all at once, and !uickly stir.

hen, put back the pan over medium"high heat to evaporate the remaining water content. Beep stirring until the mi.ture leaves the sides of the pan and the spoon.

Remove from heat again and beat in an egg.

+eat it until smooth and repeat the process with the rest of the eggs, one egg at a time.

he more egg you added, the longer time it takes to be smooth.

his is how it looks after the last egg was beat in and this means, your chou. paste is done2 If you#re making the puff shells for dessert, you can continue with piping and baking.

However, as the name says )heese puffs, we need to fold in grated cheese to the paste. I used camembert and parmesan 3cheap ones, probably not real, lol4.

$ow, line a baking tin with parchment paper and place some paste in a pastry bag. I#m a messy person 3and everyone knows that4, so whenever I have to use a pastry bag, I always clip it with this potato"chip"bag"clipper to avoid dough:batter oo%ing out during the piping. If the batter easily flows out from the opening 3like whipped cream or macaron4, you can add another clip right on the upper side of the fitted no%%le when you fill in the bag with the batter.

@ipe out the paste onto the paper making small mounds 3mine was about ;"cm in diameter4 and space them about /"cm apart. And by the way, I shouldn#t have bothered to choose the no%%le shape.

he ne.t steps are optional. Aightly brush the top with beaten egg and sprinkle with grated cheese.

he puffs have firm and crusty e.terior with soft layer underneath. )alling them as cheese shells sounds more proper, though.

I 3finally4 graduated 3after all those years4 /. I 3finally4 turned ;5 3oooopsss..24 ;. I got married <. I fell in love with cooking 6. I started writing this blog I#m sure you too have your own precious moments last year 3and before that too4 and let#s wish for more great moments to come in our lives2 As for our $ew Cear#s celebration, we didn#t e.actly doing any celebration. 'y kitchen still needs to get fi.ed, but water already stopped dropping for now at least. &n $ew Cear#s eve, we actually had our dinner outside and each of us had a bowl of beef udon. +ack home and when it was nearly -- pm, he said he was hungry 3again24. So I checked out the fridge and I#ve got wonton skins, which I bought before the kitchen incident, some cheese, and canned tuna. Alright, wonton pi%%a it is2

!onton pizza

I was craving for pi%%a. Recently, we had a medium chicken pi%%a from @i%%a Hut and with the price, I thought that was !uite a fancy meal for us. hen, when the craving hit me again 3no, I#m not pregnant, I#m ,ust hungry all the time4, I remembered watching a G show about what you can do more with microwave and toaster. &ne of them is gyou%a skin toast. 8you%a is sauteed and steamed 7apanese dumpling and the skin is similar with wonton#s. he G lady showed some stuff like peanut butter or ,am for the topping on the !you%a#s skin toast. So I figured, this should work like pi%%a2 Dven better, with thinner and crispier skin. hen, here they are, wonton skins spread with tomato ketchup and mayonnaise and topped with tuna, grated cheese, and mushroom.

After baking at /55 ) for -6 minutes, sure enough, the adorable mini pi%%a2 Aook how small and crunchy they are2 I think this can be a really good tidbits for your party. ried with banana and chocolate and they were good too. 8o e.plore the shop and your kitchen and you probably will find interesting stuffs for the topping.

And by the way, it#s powdered seaweed I sprinkled on top. I ,ust got a bag of seaweed with a very good price and I love it2And most importantly, these babies are way cheaper 3and lighter4 than the one we ordered online H4

0eekend kemarin ini biasa a,a tapi menyenangkan. 'enyenangkan itu artinya apa yang direncanakan untuk diker,akan di weekend dapat terpenuhi. 1imulai dari hari Sabtu, rencana utama adalah arisan. +iarpun telat karna bikin lasagna dulu di rumah dan makan bareng eyang, akhirnya sampe ,uga di @I' buat setor uang arisan, hehehe karena begitu kita dateng gank arisan udah mau bubar. 'aafkan, soalnya ,alanan macet banget hari Sabtu siang itu. 'ungkin karena weekend di akhir bulan. Setelah arisan, kita window shopping, dan sempet membiarkan anaya main di )ircus L - ,aman. @adahal di @I' banyak mainan gratis sih, tp kasian lah anaya pengen mandi bola. 1isana saya ngintip Ace Hardware dan 'etro buat cari loyang tulban teflon tapi gak ada, ada loyang yang lainnya. Akhirnya setelah gempor kita pulang. 'alem minggu, heboh piala )hampions.. saya ikutan seru/an a,a, pas bolanya main ya tidur. Hari 'inggu ini direncanakan buat saya sama Rama yg mau cari kebutuhan masing/. Saya ya loyang itu dan si papa mau cari ,eans. Sempet plin plan mau kemana akhirnya u,ung/nya ke I ) Buningan a,a gitu2 entah kenapa.. rencana itu tercetus karna lewat depan situ, padahal tadinya Rama udah mau nganterin ke +B itan 9atmawati. Caudahlah kita ke I )B M Ambasador 'all. ernyataaaaa disana saya dapet loyang yang dicari dan apa sih yg gak ada di I )E Rama ,uga dapet lah ,eans / bi,i2 Ditss, masih ada bonus.. dapet ,uga dong pancake duren yang biasanya seringan keabisan. Sebelum pulang mampir beli diapers M susu dulu, tapi huuu seperti biasa 'imi vanillanya kosong, ya nantilah berburu lagi kebetulan masih ada stock kok.

adinyaaa.. iya tadinya mau bikin red velvet cake weekend ini. api langsung surut begitu tau kalo adonannya mesti dibagi ; pas dipanggang. 0alaupun udah dikasih tau sama P1iahRe gapapa di,adiin satu, apa daya udah kadung males. $ah pas lagi mampir ke Q' nemuin resep easy apple crumble dr Shinta yg sempet dibicarain di twitter. +aiklah, ini a,a deh buat ngedapur hari Sabtu kemarin. 1iliat/ tinggal beli apel 3Lice cream4 a,a di supermarket. Ini resepnya beneran ditiru plek.. eh saya cuma modif dgn mengurangi brown sugar, trus tambah gula pasir biasa tp ,umlahnya sama seperti resep. a%an $

Cara membuat $

F untuk a%onan kulit pie ( campur semua bahan kecuali air es, lalu diuleni pakai tangan sampai tercampur men,adi remahan/. +aru masukkan air es sedikit demi sedikit, tetap diuleni pakai tangan sampai kalis. +entuk bulat lalu pipihkan. Balau punya gilingan kayu lebih mantap:pake botol bekas sirup. Aoyang dioles margarin dulu, baru adonan kulit diIcetakI di loyang. usuk/ pakai garpu biar nanti gak ngembang. Simpan dulu di lemari es kurang lebih - ,am. F tuang semua bahan isi di wadah 3puree labu, mai%ena, garam, kayumanis, cengkeh, gula, telur4 baru yang terakhir campur susu evaporated. F diaduk sampe tercampur semua dan tuang ke dalam loyang kulit pie F panaskan oven //5 dera,at ) dan mulai baking untuk -5 menit pertama. Aalu turunkan panas men,adi -*5 dera,at dan panggang sekitar <6 menit atau sampai kekuningan kulit pie nya dan labu agak mengeras, seperti biasa tusuk pakai tusuk gigi. F saat -:/ matang taburi ke,u cheddar parut dan panggang lagi. Ini sih modifikasi dari saya a,a, nggak pake ,uga gapapa kok. F siap disantap, mariii..

Hari 'inggu di rumah, saya pake buat nge"dapur. Bebetulan pas lagi ngumpul di rumah &ma, cuma keluarga kita plus keluarga adik saya a,a sih yang ,an,ian makan siang di rumah. &k, ,adi ada ya yang akan buka mulut kalo saya bikin dessert, kan mereka semua sih seneng/ a,a dikasih cemilan krn prinsipnya buat kami cuma ada makanan enak dan enak banget (4 7adi saya bikin +anana @uddinI resep dari +abycenter. Cang mudah dan murah meriah, tanggal tua bok2 a%an $ F 6 buah pisang ambon F / bungkus sedang wafer vanila F kismis 3optional4 F 655 ml susu 3saya pake ultra low fat4 F gula 3ini sesuai selera tingkat kemanisan deh4 F ;"< sdm tepung terigu protein sedang 3all purpose flour4 F ; kuning telur F seu,ung sdt garam F -sdt pasta vanila F ke,u parut M bubuk kayu manis utk taburan 3optional4 untuk maringue: tutup atas puddinI F ; putih telur F < sdm gula pasir Cara membuat $ F @anaskan oven dulu suhu standar a,a (saya bikin $(( %erajat akhirnya kemarin agak gosong

F lalu siapkan untuk maringue"nya, putih telur dan gula dikocok dengan mi.er sampai seperti foam dan tuang lagi di atas pinggan. F erakhir kalau suka tambahkan parutan ke,u dan bubuk kayu manis F panggang sampai kecoklatan. Hidangkan saat hangat atau dingin 3dikulkas dulu4. Rasanya sih mirip seperti klapertart. Aumayan buat variasi. Resep dari mom3me4world dan ternyata adalah resep dari 1avid Aebovits, )hef @astry termama. Batanya sih ini mudah banget, sampe yg idiot 3baca(awam4 bisa bikinnya. Dh, tapi saya yg awam sempet bingung dulu sih, yakin gak yakin bikin cake gak pake tepung, ternyata bisa pemirsa.. enak malah2 +ukan narsis tp resep ini bakalan ,d favorit deh, soalnya rasanya coklat bgt dan lumer gitu di mulut. )uma pengakuan nih, ketidakyakinan ini membuat saya menambahkan sedikit tepung terigu di

adonan. 1an saya gak nyesel. Barena teksturnya ,adi pas gitu, bisa dikunyah tp lembuuut.. Ini di copy resep plus modif dari saya pas bikin kemarin.. a%an $ F /?5 gram dark cooking chocolate 3saya pake ;55gram biar gampang a,a sih" gak punya timbangan kue4 F /55 gram butter 3saya pake orchid yg merah:asin4 F 6 butir telur dalam suhu ruang F /55 gram gula 3kalo suka rasa coklat yg lebih kuat, ini dikurangin a,a sedikit4 F /5 gram 3/ sdm4 tepung terigu protein sedang Cara Membuat$ @anaskan oven hingga suhu ->6 dera,at )elsius -. Siapkan loyang bongkar pasang ukuran /; cm. @astikan loyang tersebut rapat. 7ika tidak yakin, lapisi bagian luar loyang dengan aluminium foil. Bemudian oleskan mentega atau margarin pada loyang bongkar pasang dan taburi bubuk kokoa di atasnya. ()ak a%a loyang bongkar pasang, saya bikin %i pinggan tahan panas) /.
