Poster Analysis and Evaluation-1c,2, green

Q1a) What rules have I learnt and used on my poster successfully? Before I did my network safety poster I learnt the eight rules for poster design. They have helped me to be able to create a poster while following the rules. The rules that I used in my poster were: keeping the background very simple, not to attract anyone towards the backdrop and not the contents; lining it all out; and the eye flow of how a person to read.

Q1b) What new things do I know how to do? I know how to do all the eight rules but its quite hard to follow and have all the rules without somehow breaking them. I now know how to align my work, create soft edges around an image, design transparent image frames. I can do simple or subtle backgrounds that would not attract the reader towards it entirely. I know how to use websites like da fonts to create what I want. In my poster the font that I used was Aharoni which goes into the group type of fonts called Sans Serif. The other three that we learnt about were called Serif, Script, (which Im writing in) and Decorative.

This is my first draft and in this I made all the words capital. My words were not spaced out. The words were also not in line with each other and there was too much text in the passage. The things that I did well were that I applied a simple background scheme with a contrasting coloured font.

I then acted on the feedback I got into my third draft which is above. The changes that I made were: 1.) 2.) 3.) 4.) 5.) I made my sentences shorter and snappier. I made more space on the page. My pictures were more organized into spaces. The writing was spaced out. I included two helpline in the poster.

Q2) I believe that if you make your poster bold and eye-catching then the reader will be more likely to read it. The poster should have a type of message or moral that is portrayed throughout the poster. The poster should have some originality so that it is unique and unlike anyone elses. Clarity should also be in the poster. Lastly, the poster could have a theme that is depicted within the poster. By Sameera Abdulkadir 8H Computing
