For Immediate Release Friday, March 21, 2014

Hamilton endorsed by Black Womens Empowerment League of Gwinnett (Gwinnett County, Georgia) Renita Hamilton, candidate for Georgia State House of Representative for District 105 announced today that she has been formally endorsed by The Black Womens Empowerment League (BWEL), the national grassroots organization formerly known as Black Women for Obama. The endorsement comes with some considerable political capital. In 2008, Black Women for Obama had official chapters in Georgia, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and Washington State. Members of state and local chapters participated in canvassing events, GOTV efforts, registration drives, and fund raising for then Senator Obama, and eventually raised over $50,000 for his first presidential bid. In 2012, the organization added additional states to its roster of members to help propel President Obama to an historic second term win. Black Women for Obama has become the Black Womens Empowerment League, and were thrilled to endorse Ms. Hamilton for State House Representative for 2014. There is no ambiguity - she has proven to our satisfaction that she is the best choice to represent the children and families of Gwinnett County in the State House. Her passion for wanting to see Gwinnett County residents succeed is evident, and were going to do everything in our power to see that she becomes the next State Representative from District 105. Hamilton qualified on March 06, 2014 to run for Georgia State House of Representative District 105 Seat. About The Black Womens Empowerment League: BWEL is a professional grass -roots organization dedicated to doing all it can to ensure that the issues important to black women and their families are part of the agenda for all elected officials.
