I am delighted that North Tipperary County Council have decided to allocate 9,000 euros towards the Puckane village

Park amenity. The hard working committee in Puckane have brought this project to this level where they have raised their own funds and also successfully applied for funding from the North Tipperary Leader partnership. The funding from North Tipperary County council comes after the Project was assessed last week by the Area engineer Peter Fee who also saw the possibility of draining flooding from the centre of the village into a soak pit near the park which is sensible engineering. Last week I asked North Tipperary county council to use some of the recently announced 70,000 euros allocated to them for the Public area enhancement scheme and thankfully this request was successful. I would also like to announce that the Poles for the Hazard warning lights outside Puckane National school are being put in place this week also and the engineer is also looking at removing some hedging there that is restricting safe viewing for students and parents there . The people of Puckane and surrounding areas have waited for quite a long time for their park and amenity area and I am delighted that the hard working committee have been assisted by North Tipperary County council to see their project over the line. Yours sincerely Cllr. Samie Morris 23/02/1964
