Privacy Policy
The school has amended the Privacy Statement and Collection Notice to ensure compliance with the amendments to the Privacy Act. I reassure and remind parents that the school takes very seriously its obligations regarding the privacy of information about students and parents that is provided to the school prior to and during the course of a students enrolment at the school. The schools new Privacy Statement and Collection Notice are located on this link and also on the school website should you wish to have a read.
Car Parking
We would ask all parents to exercise caution when parking in and around the school. There have been a number of incidents already this year, so please be extra careful when parking and reversing.
School Uniform
Please check that your child is wearing the correct school uniform each day. There are a few children who have started to wear bracelets and other jewellery which is not part of the uniform. A uniform note will be sent home for those who continue to wear the incorrect school uniform. If your child has to wear a different uniform for a short period of time, a note to your childs teacher would be appreciated. Please check the website for the correct uniform requirements. Thank you to the many parents who always ensure that their child is in the correct uniform.
Mini Hotdog morning tea and lunch will continue on Mondays and Tue sdays during Lent. Mini Hotdogs cost 50c and all money goes to Project Compassion. They are available at the tuckshop.
Last Friday at assembly, the Year 6 Mini Vinnies group was announced. It is with pleasure that we announce these students for the 2014 team: Ella, Alex, Harrison, Matt, Hayden, Daniella, Seamus, Maddie, Eliza, Oscar, Jamey, Claire, Sophie, Natalie, Harry, Sam, Erin and Bonnie. These students have already been assisting with enthusiasm in Project Compassion activities.
Some of our Year 7 students attended the Writers Day of Excellence and Passion held at Marymount recently. Our ten students worked with Marymount Primary Year 7 and Marymount College Year 8 students, led by author, Christine Bongers, who inspired the children in the development of their creative writing skills.

My name is Ainslie Wheeler and I have been appointed as the Gu idance Counsellor replacing Mr Tony OShea for 2014 at St Augustines Parish Primary School. I am a psychologist who has a passion for working with children, adolescents and their families. I am very excited to have been given the opportunity to work at St Augustines Parish Primary School and have felt privileged to have become a part of this great community. The welcome that I have received from the staff, parents, and students of the school to date has been wonderful. I am very much looking forward to a productive 2014 and to working collaboratively with teachers, parents, and students. The role of the guidance counsellor is to predominately support the social, emotional and behavioural needs of students who may be experiencing difficulties within the school setting. If you feel that your child would benefit from guidance counsellor support this year please discuss this with your childs classroom teacher or contact me via email (ainslie.wheeler@bne.catholic.edu.au) or through the school office (07 5598 8730). At this time, a meeting can be arranged which will provide an opportunity to review your childs current needs and ongoing support. Should you wish to engage in the service a consent form will be presented, which will need to be
throughout the year. I am at St Augustines Parish Primary School on a Monday and Wednesday. I wish your family all the best for 2014. Best wishes, Ainslie Wheeler (Ainslee.Wheeler@bne.catholic.edu.au)
